A good thing about these newer buildings is that you can take a quick photo with an ultra wide angle lens and the buildings don’t look weird like more traditional buildings with straight lines would.
On the other hand, it must be more difficult to get a photo that shows exactly how the building looks like.

Ateneum is the place to go in Helsinki if you want to see classic Finnish paintings.
Have a look at a few of the most impressing ones. It’s impossible to live in Finland without seeing references to these works.
Tame squirrels are one of the attractions of Seurasaari outdoor museum.
They will approach you and they want nuts. They will eat from your hand or climb your leg if needed.
Unfortunately they are also eating valuable parts of the old houses as well.

If the weather is nice during a weekend, there will be many city dwellers walking around the island.
Natural History Museum in Helsinki
Helsinki’s Natural History Museum was reopened a few months ago after renovations. The museums biggest attraction has been a two-headed veal. I visited the museum when I was a kid and that is the only exhibit that I still remember.
When they were opening the museum they were not able to find the veal anymore! Several people have searched the storage spaces without any luck.
It seems that the museum has still been a big success this summer without its biggest drawcard. Maybe I should go there as well. I hope they allow me to photograph there.
