…an opportunity or a threat?
Yesterday there was a discussion about social media on Finnish tv (in Finnish) and viewers were also able to participate using Twitter, Facebook and text messages. The title of this post is the best Twitter comment of the evening by @skrubu who also has a great eye for photographs.
The best part of the experience was to see how viewers started to write improvement ideas for the organizers using this tool during the tv program.
The program was targeted to wider audiences so I would have expected to hear more about things that have been achieved by using social media. The woman from @GreenpeaceSuomi did a great job in this and there were good comments from people like @mikkohypponen, @alexnieminen and @Taneli_Heikka. Understandably there wasn’t much new for someone who knew the basics. In Twitter many were disappointed. Blogs were hardly mentioned.
I’ll write more about my social media experiences (blogs, Twitter, Flickr, Facebook) during the next weeks in this blog. I joined Facebook because of something that happened in Botswana.
