…was built more than 120 years ago when it was said to be one of the most modern hospitals in Europe.

Its most famous patient was probably lethally wounded general governor Nikolay Bobrikov who was shot by Eugen Schauman in 1914.

These boxes are used in the capital region to pay for public transportation using a Travel Card (matkakortti). There are card readers inside buses, trams and trains but this one is outdoors for those who want to catch the Suomenlinna ferry.
