It’s A Lonely Job…

…being an ice hockey referee. When you are doing a good job, people forget that you even exist.

Well, Jari Levonen might still have some friends as he just got his 8th consecutive “golden whistle” (kultainen pilli) prize. Once again the players of Finnish SM league thought that he is the best referee in the league.

He used to play in the league and he had constantly problems with the referees.

A Crow Having…

…a drink.

Misty Morning…

Younger People Are Not Interested in Politics…

…so politicians have concentrated on pleasing those who actually vote. Jyrki Katainen, Minister of Finance, in the middle.

There is now a small change after a populist True Finns party has increased its support not least due to their “critical views” on immigration. That hasn’t gone unnoticed in more traditional parties and even the chairwoman of the Social Democratic Party made a comment “When in Finland do as the Finns do” to attract voters in an almost racist manner.

Have to Think of Something…

…more interesting.

After taking photos for 2.5 weeks in Turkey and going through them very quickly I really haven’t had any motivation to even touch a camera. Hopefully during the next week I’m able to post some new photos as well.

A Lamp…

…at Suomenlinna church.

I have now published a quickly selected set of photos from my recent trip to Turkey.

This Path will Lead to…

…something shiny.

Waiting for the…

…Suomenlinna ferry at Suomenlinna.

Above the Clouds…

…and an island on the southern coast of Finland. Taken today while returning from a 2.5 week trip in Turkey.

Yesterday I had an outdoor dinner in Istanbul but I guess the weather won’t allow that in Helsinki for a while. Well, in the next few weeks I probably have to be indoors a lot anyways to get all my photos processed.

This image actually does remind me of Turkey: In Cappadocia I took some snowy scenery photos from a hot air balloon.

Merikarhu of the Coast Guard…

…appeared out of nowhere.
