These Helsinki icons at the Central Railway Station were created by Emil Wickström and there are two others just outside of the photo on the left. The statues are called lyhdynkannattajat (carriers of the lanterns).
During the past years VR railway company has used them as animation figures in their advertising. The green hats are also part of their advertising campaign.

I remember these men outside the railway station! That was a summer about 15 years back. Good to see that they are doing well and keep warm.
Brought back some nice memories from a very nice city, and so many beautiful places, including a very big and famous cafe not to fare away from a Marimekko store, and of course the boat trip to a nearby island…..
