Baboonrights Activism

Baboons United.

Korkeasaari zoo has for a long time tried to replace these baboons with a specie that is better adapted to Finnish climate but a zoo hasn't been found that would take the existing ones.

In 2004 the baboons were the center of attention in Finland when Korkeasaari zoo informed that the animals will be put to sleep as their living quarters needed renovation and there was no place where to put them for the duration of the renovation.

A campaign was started to save the baboons and as a result the premises were fixed, a temporary home was found for the baboons, they were kept alive but the original problem still exists.
